The Green Bay Public Works Department has announced a temporary change to the operating schedule of the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge for essential maintenance activities. The bridge, located at Dousman and Main Streets, will undergo annual cleaning and preventative maintenance works, leading to alterations in its regular functioning.
According to the department, the bridge will be closed to masted navigation on specific dates to facilitate the maintenance tasks. The closure is scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2024, between 4 a.m. and 2 p.m., and from Tuesday, April 23, 2024, starting at 7 a.m. until Thursday, April 25, 2024, concluding at 3 p.m.
This temporary change aims to ensure the continued safety and efficiency of the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge, benefiting both pedestrians and motorists who rely on its operation. The public is advised to take note of these dates and times to plan their travels accordingly during the maintenance period.
